Glasgow's Homeless Strategy

Following the implementation of recent legislation, Glasgow has developed a strategy for tackling homelessness and it is important that the Wayside Centre plays an important role in contributing to the overall aim of alleviating - if not eradicating - the problem of homelessness.

The Wayside offers an important range of services to people who lead insecure and unsettled lives. As a well-established service, the Wayside is able to act both as an access point offering crisis response, therapeutic intervention and access to other health and specialist services and as a gateway to opportunity for clients achieving greater stability in their lives. In performing a triage function for homeless and socially excluded people, the Wayside provides advice, information, advocacy, access to healthcare, opportunities for meaningful occupation and practical and personal support which are outlined in the Homeless Task Force's report as being integral to resolving homelessness (Helping Homeless People 82).

We are grateful to the following partners who help to fund the centre's operation.
